Auxiliar Police Unit 132 Wantagh is a non-profit Volunteer organization assisting 7th Precinct of NCPD.

Who We Are

The Nassau County Auxiliary Police Program operates under the Nassau County Police Department’s Community Safety Unit - Auxiliary Police Section. Originally established as part of Civil Defense, this program was created by federal law in the 1940s to safeguard U.S. residents before, during, and after potential enemy attacks. The New York State Defense Emergency Act of 1951 further defined the role of civil defense forces, including auxiliary police. Today, our primary mission is to enhance community safety by mitigating risks, preparing for emergencies, responding effectively to crises, and aiding in recovery efforts.
